Arts Across the Curriculum
The Blackburn Project
West Lothian Youth Theatre is working in collaboration with National Youth Choir of Scotland (NYCoS), to pilot a project in two primary schools in Blackburn. The aim of this project is to measure the impact of music and drama on young peoples’ personal and social development, and on their general levels of achievement and attainment.
Using drama to teach French
WLYT has recently developed a partnership with Broxburn Academy to pilot a project which aims to apply drama techniques to secondary teaching across different curriculum activities. There is a growing need for active learning approaches for pupils that are not considered academic and this project aims to fulfill the needs of such pupils and their teachers in a learning environment. This particular project will look at modern languages (French) and how to make the learning process more engaging through the use of drama games and exercises.
