WLYT has a strong track record in the delivery of education and outreach work and has been delivering workshops to young people across West Lothian since 1986. WLYT delivers 29 weekly drama and video workshops reaching out to over 400 young people. The workshops use the WLYT curriculum which aims to ensure that all young people within the Youth Theatre are working towards a similar level of achievement. Eventually a system of accreditation will be introduced to recognise the achievements that participants have made, not only in theatre skills, but also in areas relevant to their lives, in particular education and future employment:

• increased confidence and self esteem
• improved communication skills
• team working skills and working with others
• individual and collaborative decision making
• creativity
• initiative
• risk taking skills

WLYT delivers drama workshops for juniors (P5, P6 and P7), intermediates (S1 and S2) and seniors (S3 and upwards) in areas all over West Lothian. Junior workshops last for one and half hours and intermediate and senior workshops for two hours. WLYT charges £2.50 for juniors and £3 for intermediates and seniors. £2.50 for Livingston Seniors 1 & 2 and £4 for Livingston Seniors 1 & 2 with additional support - includes transport provision.
